I'm interested in meeting someone who can keep up with me and someone who can keep me on my toes. Someone who is smart, funny, sexy, culturally aware... and confident enough to know it without being egotistical about those things. Someone athletic and active, ambitious and kind. I was recently reminded of a great quote "the meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances; if there is any reaction, both are transformed." I meet people everyday ... This epiphany came from how stupid that game "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?" made me feel when I played it. So now it's learn something daily to keep my brain going. This fills me with many interesting tidbits that are generally useless to know. But at least I learned!

I live happily, at least I think I do. Every day I do something that makes me smile, whether it's watch a comedy, take a walk, listen to the falling rain, write, or read. ... Or any other number of activities that my short attention span decides is shiny enough to hold its interest for that moment.

I try to better myself too. While I am one of the most awesome people in the universe, there is always room for improvement. Giving a little and taking a little. That's how the circle works.

First things first: I am currently dating someone that this site has led me to. (Note: Dear god I never thought that I'd say that.)

I am not here to impress you. Too often on these dating sites do we try to sell ourselves, or portray ourselves in certain lights that we consider to be attractive. I'm fed up with that vision of a dating service, and you will thusly not see me saying, for instance, that I'm a "down to earth guy who likes to have fun". In almost every female profile I've read that is what they are looking for in a guy, and sorry, I don't fit that description. My head is perpetually in the clouds, wondering about how meaning can be given to my life, about if society is on the precipice of an endless chasm and is near implosion, about a day that I could look around me and be content. While yes, I do like to "have fun", my life is not centered around it either; getting wasted and high-fiving all the bros is not my idea of a perfect evening but I still enjoy drinking wine and watching a movie, or going bowling or mini-golfing, or taking a hike along a wooded trail, or simply sitting down and talking with someone whose company I thoroughly enjoy. As a side note, I find it remarkable when you get to know someone so well that you can completely enjoy each other's silence - that not a word needs to be said and yet there is a calm, comfortable understanding between the two of you.

I work hard for my accomplishments and achievements, however it seems sometimes that I over work or over think things. I can be misunderstood at times. I guess it's because I'm a Pisces! When I really click with someone, I really like to get to know every side of them. I don't have many acquaintances that I spend time with, but I have probably 10-15 really close friends that I know I can depend on and they can depend on me. I like to e social but also love my alone time. I never NEED to be around people, but love one on one time with all my close friends. I try to live life with the best intentions and never forget where I come from. I am a very fun and energetic person from the start and I am not afraid to let people in if I trust them.

I was born and raised in Hartford and I moved back this summer after about ten years away. First I was in Boston for college, then New Orleans for a little while, then Philadelphia for grad school, followed by Venice, Italy for two years, and then back to Philly for another year. I love Hartford (turns out I'm a hometown girl even though I would have denied this at 18) and I am incredibly happy to be back, especially with the knowledge that I don't intend to move again anytime soon!
